Learning LNPlay: Team On-boarding

Getting trained up on LNPlay.

Today was the start of learning how to setup, run, and use LNPlay. The first thing we did was setup an Ubuntu instance on AWS. We ran into a few issues related to region; once we switched to a different region, things started working. We quickly fixed this issue and got the Ubuntu instances up and running in AWS. Side-note, this was the first time I have ever setup an instances using AWS... it was easier than expected.

The next step was using lnplay.guide to setup all the proper port connections for LNPlay and the instances. These steps can be found here. The step by step guide was easy to follow and made the process of setup quick. I feel like anyone can do this if they just sit down and follow the directions closely. After this was done installation was the next step.

When installing you must open a command line terminal. This process was a bit more tedious than the previous steps because I was using Windows. There where a few things that Farscapian had to fix on his end and then it was off to the races. I had to enter quite a few bash commands in order to get it installed. I felt like a true shadowy super coder doing this. The next step was... DEPLOYMENT!!

We continued to use the command line to enter more commands. We where met with a few bugs during deployment. But we didn't allow the bugs to stop us. Our commitment to getting LNPlay deployed wouldn't allow it. We know the Plebs need LNPlay. Once deployed Farscapian scanned a QR code I generated on my phone and I was quickly sent 5,000 sats! Mission accomplished!

Stay tuned to learn more about LNPlay.
